Hunan Yunbang Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (Yunbangpharm) located in Changsha High-tech Industrial Park, Hunan. It is a high-tech enterprise specializing in the research and development, production and sales of Pharmaceutical raw materials, Pharmaceutical intermediates(API) and Fine chemicals. Based in China, Yunbangpharm has been providing suitable solutions for many domestic, foreign pharmaceutical companies and traders. Excellent quality, good reputation and authentic price have won the praise of the majority of customers.
The company adheres to the corporate tenet of "We do not produce medicines, but help pharmaceutical companies make good medicines".Alpha-Chymotrypsinogen A is an inactive precursor form of the enzyme alpha-chymotrypsin, which is produced in the pancreas.
The precursor, alpha-Chymotrypsinogen A, is activated by the enzyme trypsin, which cleaves specific peptide bonds within the molecule, generating the active enzyme alpha-chymotrypsin. Once activated, alpha-chymotrypsin exhibits proteolytic activity and is involved in the hydrolysis of peptide bonds in proteins and peptides, particularly targeting peptide bonds adjacent to amino acids with aromatic or large hydrophobic side chains.
Alpha-Chymotrypsin is known for its specificity in cleaving peptide bonds at the carboxyl end of amino acids, particularly tyrosine, phenylalanine, tryptophan, and leucine. Its enzymatic activity is essential for the digestion of dietary proteins, as well as for the processing and activation of other digestive enzymes.
The active form of alpha-Chymotrypsin contributes to the breakdown of proteins into smaller peptides and amino acids, facilitating their absorption and utilization in the body. Its activity is a key part of the overall enzymatic machinery involved in protein digestion and nutrient assimilation.
In summary, alpha-Chymotrypsinogen A is the inactive precursor form of the enzyme alpha-chymotrypsin, which is activated in the small intestine to participate in the hydrolysis of peptide bonds in dietary proteins, contributing to the process of protein digestion and nutrient absorption in the body.

Uses | α-Chymotrypsinogen A from bovine pancreas has been used as model protein crystallization reproducibility studies. It has also been used in the hydrolysis of α-gliadins prior to mass spectroscopy studies. |
Uses | Chymotrypsinogen A is used as a serine protease that hydrolyzes peptide bonds with aromatic or large hydrophobic side chains (Tyr, Trp, Phe, Met) on the carboxyl end of the peptide bond, used in the non-invasive determination of solid-state protein conformation using near infrared (NIR) spectroscopy. It has been used to study the partitioning of protein in polymer/polymer aqueous two-phase systems. The enzyme has also been used for self-interaction chromatography applications, to test the rapid measurement of protein osmotic second virial coefficients. In this technique, the protein is immobilized on chromatographic particles and its retention is measured using isocratic elution. |
General Description | Chymotrypsinogen from bovine pancreas is a zymogen containing 5 disulfide bridges. It has an isoelectric pH of 8.97. |
Biochem/physiol Actions | Chymotrypsinogen A requires limited proteolysis for its activation. Chymotrypsinogen A may be activated by trypsin and chymotrypsin (autolytic activation) to form m α, β, γ, δ and π chymotrypsin (depending upon the conditions of activation). Chymotrypsin is a protease that will preferentially cleave peptides on the carboxyl side of aromatic amino acids including tryptophan, tyrosine, and phenylalanine. It will also hydrolyze peptides on the carboxyl side of leucine, methionine, and alanine. |
