Azure II has been used in the Richardson′s stock solution for the staining of lysosomal glycogen.

Azure II complex is used for the staining of nuclei, goblet cells, striated muscle, endothelial cells, smooth muscle, cytoplasm, lipid droplets, red blood cells, glycogen, collagen, cartilage, mucus granules, elastin and leukocytes.
