- As a growth-directing surfactant in the synthesis of monodisperse gold nanorods.
- As a surfactant in the synthesis of poly(met-hyl methacrylate)-poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) core-shell particles via emulsion polymerization.
- As an additive in the synthesis of mesoporous nanocrystalline TiO2 microspheres to increasing the degree of crystallization and modification in the texture of TiO2.
